Cable Fault Location 202: Advanced Techniques

The traditional Arc Reflection Method (ARM) is nowadays well established as industry standard for fault location on extruded primary cables, and most fault scenarios can be handled with it.
There are however cases where ARM can be challenged or may not work at all.
In this webinar we will explore alternatives to the standard ARM approaches (ARM slide multishot, ARM+, Burn ARM) and shed some light on other methods like the transient
methods (ICE, DECAY, DECAY+) and also HV Bridge methods.
We will briefly discuss the specific differences between fault
locating on solid dielectric insulated cables and paper-insulated lead covered cables (PILC). You will also learn about applicability and limitations of various techniques and a systematical approach to find the next tricky fault in your system.
