Phoenixville, Pa. February 2023 – Megger recently held its 20th Annual Distributor Charity Golf Outing in support of Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation and HopeKids of Arizona. This year, Megger donated $20,000, with an additional $6,500 raised through raffles, including a 50/50, that attendees participated in. An additional $2,500 was raised in a separate raffle for HopeKids, an organization that provides ongoing events, activities and community support for pediatric cancer survivors and their families.

“This year we had 132 golfers participate. This was the most well attended event in our 20-year history,” said David Danner, co-coordinator of the event and director, Americas distribution, Megger. “We had to take a break from putting on the actual event for the past few years due to Covid-19. Planning, hosting and raising money for this event this year was really a wonderful experience, not only for Megger, but for all that attended and participated.”

“It is inspiring to see how many people come out to support this event each year, especially after taking a few years hiatus,” said Mike Palmer, co-coordinator of the event and Western regional sales manager of US Distribution, Megger. “We are very thankful to Megger for helping give back to the families that visit and are treated at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. As an organization, we have provided hope and healing to many, many children and their families. That’s a great feeling," he said.

Making a difference together

As in previous years, this golf outing is hosted by Megger’s US distribution team. Megger authorized distributors, customers, employees, as well as doctors, nurses and representatives from Phoenix Children’s Hospital attended.

“Many people and companies were also extremely generous with their donations, and we are extremely grateful. Transcat donated ball markers and golf towels; Doc Popcorn donated for our raffles; Tracy McKee donated handmade jewelry for our raffles; Mitchell Instruments donated golf flags; and TEquipment donated cart stickers. Rick Rathbun, Kent Nelson, Paul Mamzic, Nick Luttrell and Bryan Beverley made significant contributions to the event as well. Hob Knob Sports Grill and IEC also made generous donations to the event,” said Danner.

This year’s Golf event winners were Dan Rutherford, Bill Stergion, Jay Barr, and Bruce Tucker of RDI Construction.

“There is nothing better than seeing the joy on the faces of all the participants as they bought raffle tickets and spoke to them about why they wanted to participate in this year’s event. We heard repeatedly, we do it to help the kids,” said Danner.
